Happy 3rd Birthday Ellie!

For our adorable neice's 3rd birthday, I made some doll clothes to go with her Baby Alive that her parents bought her.
A sunsuit/romper
Sleeper
The pattern calls this a slip, but I think it's just a cute little dress/nightgown.
A little romper.

More Baby Gifts

Here's a little apple onesie for my friend, Jennifer's shower.

Beach Blanket

I made this quilt for Cari's birthday. It's cotton material on top and vinyl on the bottom so that it can be used at the beach/park and not get sand or water on the quilt.
Also on the quilt are four small pockets on the sides to help weight it down with small rocks or sand, etc.

New Quilt

We had a piece of furniture that I love so can't let go of, but it doens't match anything in our place - so, I made a small quilt to go over the top temporarily until we have more space.
Here's the back of the fabric. It doesn't really match, but I loved the fabric so decided to use it anyway.

Girls' Camp T-shirts

For Girls' Camp this year, the theme was "Be..." - here is the shirts that we made for our ward. It was so much fun making these with Kim and Maria. For the Priesthood brethren from our ward, we added ties so they were less "girly"!

Squares for Quilt

Here is the finished quilt. The squares are courderoy and the outside and back are extra soft!
I bought this great embroidery book with tons of patterns. It's a great thing for me to do while we're watching tv and just hanging out. All of these squares will be part of a small quilt that I'm going to make. I thought this would be a great way to get some practice in - especially with different stitches. So, hopefully my friend this is for will really enjoy it!

More Onesies

Two flowers made from yo-yos.

Booties to match PJs

Here's a fun pair of booties to match the PJs that I made. To be honest, although this was a learning experience with some new techniques and materials - it is not one that I would be thrilled to repeat.

Kimono Style PJ's

Here we go - it's all finished.
Here's the finished top. See it's got the cute little ties on the side and binding around the top.

Okay, finished with the pants. So, here we go...getting closer!I thought it would be fun to make them stand up so you get a better idea!! :)

Saw this fabric and just had to get it and instantly I thought of this project I have in one of my books. Obviously, they're only about 1/2-done. But, thought you might enjoy seeing how it's coming along. I still need to do the elastic & hem the pants. The top has a longer way to go - side seams & there will be binding that will go around the front & become the ties...so, stay tuned.

Embroidery Towels

Decided I needed another project while we're watching tv - so, here are a couple of tea towels that I made. It's from a booklet of Death by Chocolate templates. I have been getting better as I've been practicing as you'll notice from the top one (later) to the bottom.

Wall Hanging

This is from a kit that I found awhile back. I thought it would be good to learn some different techniques. The flower/grass are applique and then there is the double border.

Pincushion

The latest of my sewing projects. I needed some extra room for my growing collection of straight pins. It's actually very large - a couple of inches tall and also pretty wide.

Mother's Day Gift

So, Adam was in charge of the Mother's Day gifts for our ward this year. So, we decided to make these little boxes with a quote on them, ribbon around them, and some yummy chocolates inside.

Trek Outfits

For Young Women's, we decided to make parts of their Trek outfits. I made this skirt to try it out. The other items are a handkerchief and an apron made from a pillowcase.

Living Christ Matted Pictures

I know that lots of people have made these (in RS and other activities), but I've never had the opportunity - so, I picked my favorite prints and added them to the mat. Most of these pictures are from Simon Dewey (one of my faves). I like his pictures so much because his depiction of the Savior is so real and has such meaning behind his features and expressions.

Spring Flower Basket

Saw this cute spring basket and added flowers to match.

Rocking Chair

Melinda gave me this chair awhile ago. I sanded it down, repainted it white and added my own thing to the top. It took me awhile to decide what to do, but I finally made up my mind.

Spring Crafts

After making a Spring wreath, I saw some very spring-colored fabrics at the store for a very good price. So, I splurged on a new project. I have no fabric like this in my closet, so it was a little different using such bright colors. But, I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. It definitely makes it feel like spring.

I liked these Easter wreaths that I found at the store, but I wasn't willing ot pay a ton for it. So, I had Maria and Kim come help me and we decorated eggs and other pieces one day. And then put it together for a wreath. To be honest, it really is not my favorite wreath I've ever made. It's probably in dead last, but at least it feels springy...

Sister Crowell's Quilt

So, our dear Bishop's wife is undergoing a battle with cancer. The Young Women really wanted to do a type of service for her, but under the current circumstances, it's a little difficult. So, we decided to make a quilt for her. The girls cut out the squares, embroidered their names on fabric for the back, and also helped to tie the quilt. I pieced it together. This quilt was a lot of fun to do with the girls - especially seeing some of them sew for the first time. Many of the girls wanted to do other embellishments like flowers, so we encouraged them to.
