Happy 3rd Birthday Ellie!
For our adorable neice's 3rd birthday, I made some doll clothes to go with her Baby Alive that her parents bought her.

Beach Blanket
I made this quilt for Cari's birthday. It's cotton material on top and vinyl on the bottom so that it can be used at the beach/park and not get sand or water on the quilt.

Living Christ Matted Pictures
I know that lots of people have made these (in RS and other activities), but I've never had the opportunity - so, I picked my favorite prints and added them to the mat. Most of these pictures are from Simon Dewey (one of my faves). I like his pictures so much because his depiction of the Savior is so real and has such meaning behind his features and expressions.Friday, March 13, 2009
Spring Crafts
After making a Spring wreath, I saw some very spring-colored fabrics at the store for a very good price. So, I splurged on a new project. I have no fabric like this in my closet, so it was a little different using such bright colors. But, I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. It definitely makes it feel like spring.
I liked these Easter wreaths that I found at the store, but I wasn't willing ot pay a ton for it. So, I had Maria and Kim come help me and we decorated eggs and other pieces one day. And then put it together for a wreath. To be honest, it really is not my favorite wreath I've ever made. It's probably in dead last, but at least it feels springy...
Sister Crowell's Quilt
So, our dear Bishop's wife is undergoing a battle with cancer. The Young Women really wanted to do a type of service for her, but under the current circumstances, it's a little difficult. So, we decided to make a quilt for her. The girls cut out the squares, embroidered their names on fabric for the back, and also helped to tie the quilt. I pieced it together. This quilt was a lot of fun to do with the girls - especially seeing some of them sew for the first time. Many of the girls wanted to do other embellishments like flowers, so we encouraged them to.
